Sorry to get you excited, England fans…
Flying wing-forward Theo Walcott is likely to go to this summer’s World Cup, but as a TV pundit instead of a member of Roy Hodgson’s squad. the Mirror reports.
The 24-year-old picked up a cruciate knee ligament injury against Tottenham in the FA Cup at the turn of the year, which will definitely rule him out for the rest of the season for Arsenal, and for the entirety of this summer’s World Cup with England.
In his time on the sidelines though, Walcott has featured on both ITV and Sky, and BBC bosses have been extremely impressed with his eloquent tone and his analytical ability.
However, Walcott’s wife Mel is due to give birth in May, so it’s possible the attacker would rather take advantage of the time off his with his family.
