Arsenal players Aaron Ramsey, Per Mertesacker, and Laurent Koscielny took part in a music video made by the Gunners and Citroën to thank the fans for a good 2014-2015 season.
The music video makes for a ridiculous sight. It is a parody video based off of “Return of the Mack”, but instead entitled “Return of the Fan”. And trust me you’ll know that by the end of the song because “Return of the Fan” is repeated 18 times.
The video follows a few fans and the three players as they take in the heartbreaking news that the season has actually come to a close. When the tears of Mertesacker are wiped by the equally as sad fan, you know the video is going on a downward spiral.
The trio actually looks the part of a boy band, as they nod their heads in unison to the beat while sitting on a locker room bench in their full-on game-day kits.
The end of the video comes with the Gunners looking very intimidating in matching Arsenal jumpsuits in a dimly lit Emirates Stadium, making for an unnecessarily dramatic finish.
The best part of the video by far is the participation from Mertesacker. His expressions, dancing, and lip-synching only make us wish he was able to hit the boy-band career 15 years ago.
Don’t miss out on the absurd video below.
