Arsene Wenger will look to field a young team in Arsenal’s Capital One Cup clash with Southampton at the Emirates.
Arsenal will believe they have a great chance of going far in this year’s Capital One Cup competition, but with a tough early schedule in multiple competitions Arsene Wenger will probably put out a fairly inexperienced starting XI against Southampton this Tuesday.

Here are the probable starting XI for Arsenal:
GK) David Ospina
Arsene Wenger likes to rotate his goalkeepers for the English cup ties, and now that he is fully fit David Ospina should make his first start for the Gunners.
LB) Mathieu Flamini
With Nacho Monreal still injured and Gibbs unlikely to be pushed too hard after only recently returning from injury himself, Wenger has a decision to make over the left-back position. Throw in one of the youngsters, or go for an experienced head in the form of Mathieu Flamini.
With the rest of the back four being so young, he is likely to put the Frenchman in to provide some stability; and although not his primary position, Flamini has done a job at full-back many times before.
CB) Calum Chambers
With Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny almost certain to be rested, Calum Chambers should be pushed into the centre of defence. He did brilliantly there before Mertesacker returned but he won’t have an experienced head next to him this time.
CB) Isaac Hayden
Due to a lack of defensive signings the young centre-back has been thrusted into the position of fourth choice this season. He will need a good game against Southampton to show that he is capable of stepping up.
RB) Hector Bellerin
An injury crisis forced Arsene Wenger to field the young Spaniard against Borussia Dortmund midweek, and although the team as a whole played terribly, Bellerin rose to the challenge and didn’t look out of place in the slightest.
