Arsenal look set to open talks with AC Milan over the possible loan signing of young French striker M’Baye Niang, according to CaughtOffside.
The 19-year-old has previously been regarded as one of the most promising young talents in French football in recent times, though his career has stalled somewhat since he made the move to the San Siro in 2012.
Niang showed some signs of promise in a loan spell with Ligue 1 side Montpellier last season and could be set to move again after Milan signed Chelsea striker Fernando Torres on a two-year deal, pushing him back down in the club’s pecking order.
It had looked like the youngster could be promoted to first choice after the sale of Mario Balotelli to Liverpool, but the player is now thought to be keen on a move to Arsenal after the arrival of Torres.
The Gunners have also been linked with a move for Torino forward Alessio Cerci due to their current injury crisis.
