Arsenal have stepped up their interest in Anderlecht’s Argentine midfield star, Lucas Biglia, according to the Daily Mail.
Biglia operates the anchor role in midfield, a position that Arsenal fans have called for Arsene Wenger to address for some time, and was part of Argentina’s Copa America squad. He joined the Belgian giants in 2006, following spells at both Argentinos Juniors and Independiente in his homeland.
Although plying his trade in the Belgian League, Biglia is no stranger to the big occasion, having won the FIFA World Youth Championship alongside Lionel Messi in 2005.
It is thought that a bid of around £8m would convince Anderlecht to sell their star player.
