Gunners ponder move for Japan midfielder.
Arsenal are weighing up making an end-of-season swoop for young Eintracht Frankfurt midfield player Takashi Inui, says the Daily Mail.
It is an open secret at the Emirates that the North London club are about to embark on a massive summer spending spree in order to finally bring to an end their eight-year search for a trophy.
And, one of head coach Arsene Wenger’s main transfer priorities when the window finally reopens at the end of the current campaign is the recruitment of a goalscoring midfield player, who is preferably a wide man, with the Gunners already in possession of fine attacking midfielders centrally.
As a result, the Frenchman has sent his chief scout Steve Rowley to watch the Japan midfield player in action on several occasions of late, and his glowing reports look like they have convinced the Arsenal boss to sign Inui this summer.
The 24-year-old, who has made six appearances for Japan since making his international bow in 2009, has a contract with his Bundesliga employers until 30 May 2015 and would cost the Gunners £6 million.
