Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been dealt a significant blow ahead of the Gunners’ crucial Champions League qualifying tie against Besiktas tomorrow night, with left back Kieran Gibbs having been ruled out for three weeks.
The news is likely to mean that Spaniard Nacho Monreal is drafted into the squad for the match in Istanbul, having missed out to the young Englishman for the left back slot as Arsenal kicked off their season with a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace at the weekend.
Gibbs was excellent during the victory at the Emirates Stadium, but injury has meant that his career at the Emirates Stadium has continued to stall, with this latest setback another unwelcome development for the youth team graduate.
