Arsenal have suffered a major blow with reports suggesting Real Madrid have turned down a £31m bid for striker Karim Benzema.
Benzema is reported to be high on Arsene Wenger’s wishlist this summer, but Gazzetta dello Sport writer Tancredi Palmeri claims Real Madrid have flatly rejected the Gunners’ offer and have no interest in dealing with the Premier League club over the Frenchman any longer.
“It’s all true Arsenal bid for Benzema: 45m€. Real Madrid was initially open to talk, but now they have stopped everything,” Palmeri tweeted.

According to Daily Star, Real Madrid were initially keen on negotiating with Arsenal over Benzema, however, it now seems the Los Blancos bosses are no longer keen in selling the former Lyon man.
The Gunners may not turn their full attention to Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko, with Fichajes.net reporting Arsenal have opened negotiations with City over the transfer of the Bosnia & Herzegovina international.
