Liverpool Arsenal Montoya: Arsenal & Liverpool on alert as Agent confirms £16m star wants Nou Camp exit.
The striker had six months remaining on his old deal, making him a free agent at the end of the season, but has ended speculation after signing on for an additional two years.
Huntelaar had been a target for the Gunners over the summer, but Wenger decided to splash out on Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck instead.
Both Arsenal and Liverpool had kept an eye on the 31-year-old, as he would have been available for as little as £3m.
But now the two sides will turn to Porto’s Jackson Martinez instead, as they look to bolster their firepower for the second half of the campaign.
