Juventus lead the race to sign Gonzalo Higuain from Real Madrid, though Arsenal will watch the situation carefully.
Juventus appear clear favourites over Arsenal to sign Gonzalo Higuain from Real Madrid, with the Argentina international hinting that he would like to play alongside Fernando Llorente for the Turin side.
Spain striker Llorente will join Juve at the end of his contract on July 1st, and the Scudetto winners will be even clearer favourites for the Serie A title should they also bring Higuain to Turin.
Certainly Higuain is excited about the prospect after seven seasons with Real Madrid.
“It would be wonderful [to play alongside Llorente],” said the 25 year-old to Goal.com.
“We’ll see what happens.
“There is absolutely no chance of me staying in Madrid. I have made my decision.”
Higuain is understandably coveted by some of the biggest clubs in the world after a remarkable strike rate for Real Madrid, deemed twice as efficient as the typical centre forward, and understandably will have his pick of the elite teams.
Arsenal and Juventus are expected to lead the chase for his signature, and the Argentina star says that he will move to the club that shows they want him the most.
“I will go to the club to show that really loves me,” said Higuain, before adding rather ominously for the Gunners:
“Juve is a historic club, mythical.
“Some of the biggest stars have played there.”
