Arsenal face competition from Serie A side AS Roma to bring key transfer target to Emirates Stadium.
French international goalkeeper and Arsenal target Stephane Ruffier has attracted interest from Italian Serie A giants AS Roma, reports Inside Futbol.
The news will keep the Gunners on their toes as Ruffier is seen as one of manager Arsene Wenger’s prime options to replace Lukasz Fabianski at the Emirates.
The Gunners probably need two goal keeping reinforcements this summer with the likes of Emiliano Viviano also having moved back to Palermo after his loan spell at the Emirates.
Ruffier has just one more year left on his contract with his current side AS Saint Etienne and is reportedly rated at around £7 million.
Arsenal have had a problem with injuries literally every season, and might therefore have to reinforce even the goalkeeping area with a capable shot stopper.
Roma could offer Ruffier more first team football though, which could get the French international to opt for a move to Italy as opposed to England.
