Arsenal rumours
The 25-year-old playmaker has spoken to reports about a possible summer transfer to the Emirates Stadium, after appearing at Arsenal’s home ground in Sunday’s friendly match for Chile against Brazil.
Aranguiz was alongside current Arsenal man Alexis Sanchez on the losing side this weekend, but spoke of his joy at being linked with the club, though he admits he knows nothing of any concrete approach from Arsene Wenger.
Arsenal have a shortage of midfield options this season due to injuries to the likes of Mikel Arteta and Jack Wilshere, meaning Francis Coquelin has played an unexpected amount of games in the first-team, and that interest in Aranguiz would make sense as Wenger plans for reinforcements to his squad for next season.
“I don’t know anything about it,” the player said after Sunday’s game.
“I’ve heard about it through the press but nobody has talked to me.
“They’re a great team, and it would be a dream, but for now that’s all it is… a dream.”
