Gunners to miss out on highly-rated striker.
Arsenal are set to miss out on a move for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata after his agent confirmed that he is on the verge of joining Italian side Juventus, according to the Daily Mirror.
Juanma Lopez has told Spanish sports reporters that “Morata is closer to Juventus,” seemingly spelling an end to the Gunners’ chances of signing the forward.
The move threatened to draw out into a full blown saga as the two clubs could not meet on a discrepancy of their respective valuations of the player, but reports in Italy are claiming that Juventus have not upped their initial £12 million offer for the young striker.
Real Madrid were hoping to earn double that amount for him, though, and are apparently still willing to send him out on loan and wait until somebody is willing to stump up that amount in the near future.
However, Morata is not keen on heading out of the club on a short term deal, and will try to push though a permanent move to Turin in before the weekend.
Since breaking into the Real Madrid first team back in 2011, Morata has made just 52 appearances for the club, scoring 11 goals.
