Argentinian winger is happy to remain at the Bernabeu.
Arsenal target Angel Di Maria has reiterated his desire to stay at Real Madrid despite the impending arrival of Gareth Bale from Tottenham.
Speculation has intensified this week that the 25-year-old will be told he can leave the Bernabeu once the world record deal for Bale is finally concluded and he has been heavily linked with a big-money move to the Gunners, who’re in the market for creative players.
Di Maria was the subject of praise from coach Carlo Ancelotti on Monday night after turning in a man-of-the-match display for Madrid in the Primera Division win at Granada, but it looks increasingly likely that his future will lie away from the Spanish capital.
Yet, the Argentinian international winger refuses to acknowledge that he will have to play second fiddle to Bale should the Wales star join and insists he remains happy to stay at the club after signing a five-year contract in 2012.
“I understand that the club is strengthening and they are precise in what they do,” Sky Sports quote him as saying to AS.
“But I signed up to 2018 just a year ago and my desire is to stay in the Bernabeu.”
Turkish giants Galatasaray have also been mooted as potential suitors for Di Maria should he leave Madrid and could rival Arsenal
