Wales star commits future to Swansea.
Arsenal’s hopes of signing Swansea City captain Ashley Williams appear to be over after the Welsh centre-back signed a new four-year contract at the Liberty Stadium.
Williams, who had just 12 months left on his previous deal, had been linked with interest from the Gunners and Sunderland.
However, the 29-year-old has now committed his future to the Swans until June 2018.
Williams joined Swansea from Stockport County in 2008.
He has made 277 first-team appearances for the Swans and has represented the club in three different divisions.
Williams made his senior international debut for Wales in 2008. He has 45 caps to date.
