Clement Grenier suggests that a move to Arsenal may be a realistic option for him.
Arsenal’s hopes of signing Lyon midfielder Clement Grenier have received a massive boost after the Frenchman suggested that a move to the North London club could be possible.
The 22-year old has been linked with a move to Arsenal after a fine season in Ligue 1 for Remi Garde’s side.
Talking to Sky Sports, the French playmaker, who has just received his first call-up to the national squad, hinted that a move to the Premier League club was likely.
“I have more or less made a decision about which club I want to join,” said Grenier.
“I have made the choice for sporting reasons above all. Arsenal? It could well be them.”
Lyon are said to be reluctant to let their young star leave the club this summer but they may allow the player to depart should a sizeable offer come in.
The attacking midfielder scored seven goals and provided six assists during Lyon’s third place finish last season in France, and it is his ability to play both out on the wing and also behind the strikers that has Arsene Wenger interested in his versatility and creativity as an attacking midfielder.
