Ivory Coast defender wanted by PSG.Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with a move to beat Arsenal to the signing of Toulouse right-back Serge Aurier, according to L’Equipe.
The Ivory Coast international had an impressive showing for his country at this summer’s World Cup, enhancing his reputation as one of the most promising young defenders in Europe after a fine season in Ligue 1 last term.
Aurier’s form looked to have attracted big interest from Arsenal, though they are now being strongly linked with a move to sign Newcastle United right-back Mathieu Debuchy as a replacement for the departing Bacary Sagna.
Although Aurier himself is believed to be keen on moving to the Emirates Stadium, PSG now appear to be leading the chase for his signature ahead of next season.
The big-spending French giants are likely to continue strengthening their star-studded squad this summer as they look to win the title for a third season in a row in 2014/15.
Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria could be another big name to make his way to the Parc des Princes in the coming months, according to recent reports.
