Liverpool star may have played his last game for club as Arsenal transfer looms.
Luis Suarez may have played his last game for Liverpool after injury ruled him out of the club’s final two friendlies of preseason according to the Guardian.
With the Uruguayan set to miss the first six games of the coming Premier League campaign due to suspension, having sunk his teeth into Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic last season and received a ten match ban, Steven Gerrard’s testimonial at Anfield on Saturday may have been Luis Suarez’s final appearance for the Reds.
The unspecified injury he suffered against Olympiacos will naturally draw suspicion from the cynical amongst Liverpool support, with Suarez hankering for a move to Arsenal.
However, given the noises emanating from Anfield, Reds fans would be right to be wary.
Manager Brendan Rodgers’ tone has very much evolved from defiantly telling all and sunder that Suarez is not for sale to desperately protesting that Arsenal’s £40,000,001 bid wasn’t enough money – a clear, if regretful admission that every player has his price.
Luis Suarez may never be seen again in a Liverpool shirt, and given the reaction of the Kop crowd on Saturday, that will not be a popular decision with the Anfield faithful – regardless of the price.
