Fellaini not interested in leaving Goodison Park says Spaniard.
New Everton boss Roberto Martinez has insisted that Arsenal target Maroune Fellaini is not looking to leave Goodison Park this summer.
The Belgian international has been linked with both Manchester United and Arsenal this summer, with reports suggesting the Gunners had triggered his £22m release clause last week.
Martinez has officially been Toffees boss less than a week but the Spaniard has already faced a barrage of questions about the Belgian international.
But the former Wigan manager is adamant the midfielder is going nowhere this summer.
“I don’t think it is an issue,” Martinez told Sky Sports when asked about the former Standard Liege star’s future.
“You are not talking about a player who is out of the squad or in negotiations with another club. I won’t look to speak to him about this because there is nothing to speak about.
“What I want is him to be ready for the next season, to be ready to take an important role at the club and understand that it is a big season for him.
“As an individual, he has got an exciting year in front of him and I don’t think he is personally thinking, ‘Am I going to be here?’ I don’t think that’s in his head.”
