QPR’s Julio Cesar close to joining Serie A giants.
Rumoured Arsenal target Julio Cesar is on the verge of a move to Napoli, according to the agent of the QPR goalkeeper.
“There are a few details to resolve between the club and the player, but the truth is that there is a good chance of a move happening,” Josias Cardoso is quoted as saying by Football Italia.
Earlier on Tuesday, Hoops boss Harry Redknapp confirmed the Serie A club’s interest in the 33-year-old.
“If he wants to leave, we’ll sell him,” Redknapp said.
“Napoli are not short of money, they’re just selling Edinson Cavani for £54m, so if they want him surely they’ve got to come and do a deal.
“We have to do a deal that suits the football club and not deals that suit agents and other people.”
Arsenal had been strongly linked with Cesar but will now look elsewhere for a new goalkeeper or keep the faith with erratic number one Wojciech Szczesny.
