Arsenal look to have missed out on the signing of AS Monaco striker Radamel Falcao, who is set to join Real Madrid on a season-long loan, according to Calciomercato.it.
The prolific Colombian international will cost £20m just to have on loan for the year, though Real are also expected to sign him permanently next summer in what will go down as another ‘Galactico’ signing this term.
Los Blancos have already signed big names such as James Rodriguez and Toni Kroos in this transfer window, spending roughly £83m in the process, though they have also brought in £59.7m from the sale of Angel Di Maria to Manchester United, with a further £5m likely to come in with Xabi Alonso set to join Bayern Munich.
Keen to sign another striker to compete with Karim Benzema, Falcao should make a good signing for the Champions League winners, though Arsenal will now have to look elsewhere for a new signing upfront in the final few days before the transfer deadline.
