Kondogbia looks either Madrid or Barcelona bound as Wenger is set to miss out.
Arsenal target Geoffrey Kondogbia looks set to snub Arsene Wenger in favour of a move to either Barcelona or Real Madrid, according to his agent.
“Real Madrid and Barcelona are definitely after him, but they are not the only ones”, Oscar Damiani was quoted on talkSPORT.
“Bayern Munich and two English sides have also enquired about him, while I offered him to PSG but they seemed to not be interested.”
Whilst Damiani refused to give the Gunners by name Arsene Wenger has been strongly linked with the 20-year-old in recent weeks and refused to rule out a bid for him.
Kondogbia has onbly played one season at current club Sevilla after a £3.5million switch from French side Lens in the summer of 2012.
Yet 35 appearances in all competitions for the Spanish club has convinced several of European’s elite sides that the France midfielder would be a worthwhile signing.
Although Kondogbia is contracted with Sevilla until 2017, a clause in his contract means the club is obliged to negotiate any offers made for him over 6million euros and it’s likely that any of the sides tracking the player would be willing to pay that.
Arsenal’s confirmation of Champions League football in dramatic style on Sunday should make them an attractive prospect for Kondogbia, although with La Liga champions and former winners Barca and Madrid in the running it looks as if they may miss out.
Wenger is currently in the market for a central midfielder as a potential 10 players are believed to be leaving the club this summer, whilst £70million will be spent on new acquisitions.
