Gunners keen to bring Adler to the Emirates.
Arsenal have turned their attentions to Hamburg stopper Rene Adler in the search for a new number one goalkeeper next season, reports the Daily Mirror.
The Gunners are pursuing the Germany international after being priced out of moves for Premier League duo Simon Mignolet and Asmir Begovic of Sunderland and Stoke City respectively.
The tabloid reports that Arsene Wenger has sent scouts to watch the 28-year-old this season, and the Frenchman is hopeful of getting his man for around the £5m mark.
Both Sunderland and Stoke, meanwhile, are asking around £15m for their prized assets – way above Wenger’s valuation.
The north London outfit have also been linked with a move for Barcelona stalwart Victor Valdes, who is set to leave the Nou Camp this summer after publicly announcing that he will not renew his contract with the Catalans.
Polish international Wojicech Szczesny was dropped by Wenger for the Champions League quarter final second leg with Bayern Munich in favour of compatriot Lucasz Fabianski and Szczesny has struggled to win back his place in the club’s first team since.
