The Spaniard will be absent due to illness but Wenger welcomes back Flamini.
There is some bad news for Arsenal ahead of the FA Cup clash with Liverpool on Saturday as Santi Cazorla has been ruled out due to illness.
Manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that the Spain international will play no part in the game at the Emirates Stadium, but the Frenchman does welcome back Mathieu Flamini from suspension.
“We have only one player back and that’s Flamini. He should be fresh. Cazorla is ill in bed, he won’t be available,” Wenger was quoted by Goal.
“Will I rest one, two or three players? I don’t know yet. We have one focus – to win this game.”
After a slow start to the current season Cazorla has improved greatly since the New Year and has scored five goals in all competitions in 2014 – including two in the FA Cup.
With club record signing Mesut Ozil struggling for form somewhat the 29-year-old has been relied upon to provide creativity in attacking midfield.
Cazorla arrived at the Emirates Stadium in the summer of 2012 in a £12m switch from Malaga and has since played 78 games in all competitions, scoring 18 times and providing 17 assists.
Wenger will be looking to put a disappointing 5-1 defeat in the Premier League to the Reds last weekend behind them with a good result in the cup.
However, with a Champions League clash with Bayern Munich looming next week the Frenchman may think about resting some more first team stars.
