3. An improving injury situation
The international break came at the perfect time for Arsenal.
The Gunners have had to rely on Olivier Giroud up front because aside from Nicklas Bendtner, Arsene Wenger’s other striking options have been absent through injury.
Young French striker Yaya Sanogo is close to making a full recovery from his back problem, and could be available for Arsenal’s next game against Norwich City at Emirates Stadium, while Lukas Podolski is only a few weeks away following his hamstring issues.
Podolski has always been a brilliant finisher when provided with space and a sight of goal, and will relish the opportunity to play alongside compatriot Mesut Ozil for Arsenal.
Whilst Giroud remains in great form and fitness, Arsene Wenger will be pleased to note that his options up front are growing.
