Arsenal are targeting the high profile transfer of Real Madrid enforcer Sami Khedira, reports the Sun.
The Gunners’ boss Arsene Wenger is believed to be willing to fork out a hefty £23 million for the 27-year old, who has only one year remaining on his current deal at the Santiago Bernabeu.
While Khedira may not be a vitally important player for the European Champions, who have plenty of resources at their disposal, the Gunners are in desperate need for an experienced and capable enforcer to protect their back four. The North London club probably reckon that their reasonably hefty bid could seal the deal for Khedira, particularly since the former Stuttgart man might want to follow in the footsteps of his former club teammate and best friend Mesut Ozil.
Reports suggest that Ozil’s presence at the Emirates could send across good vibes to Khedira about Arsenal, and we might well see the Gunners snatch another top quality international from Real Madrid this summer.
