Gunners close to confirming arrival of Real Madrid star.
Arsenal will unveil German World Cup winner Sami Khedira as their third summer signing on Monday, according to CaughtOffside.
The Gunners have already splashed out in excess of £40m to bring in Chile winger Alexis Sanchez and France right-back Mathieu Debuchy from Barcelona and Newcastle United respectively.
Khedira will reportedly sign from Real Madrid for a transfer fee of £24m and put pen to paper on a four-year contract worth £140,000 per week.
The 27-year-old would therefore become Arsenal’s joint top earner, along with fellow German midfielder Mesut Ozil, who arrived from Real in August last year.
Khedira would add some much needed bite to Arsenal’s midfield.
The tough tackler is also very competent in possession. He completed 193 of 227 attempted passes in five games at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
He also scored one goal and provided one assist at the super tournament in Brazil.
