Clinical Newcastle United star could move to the Emirates Stadium next month.
Arsenal will complete the £7.5m signing of Newcastle United striker Demba Ba in the first week of January, according to CaughtOffside.
The Gunners have turned their attentions to Ba after missing out on Schalke’s Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, who signed a new deal with the Bundesliga outfit last week.
Ba is unhappy about being paid just £35,000 per week at St James’ Park and has become disillusioned by boss Alan Pardew’s tactics and the club’s lowly league position.
The 27-year-old has made no secret of his desire to join Arsenal and claimed earlier this month that a move to the Emirates Stadium would be a ‘dream’.
The former West Ham forward’s desire to return to London will see Arsenal beat off competition from various other interested parties.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been promised money to spend in January and believes the prolific Ba, who has scored 11 Premier League goals in 17 appearances so far this term, represents good value for money, as his release-clause is just £7.5m.
