Arsenal have received a transfer offer for now-obsolete stopper David Ospina that they are poised to accept.
According to the Metro, Everton FC have made a £5 million bid to sign the 26-year-old Ospina from Arsenal, whose services are no longer needed now that the Gunners have Petr Cech.
Arsenal originally signed Ospina after the Columbian star played six successful seasons with Nice in Ligue 1. But after bringing him to the Premier League, Ospina never really took hold of the full-time job until much later in the season, and was not a part of the starting XI in Arsenal’s FA Cup Final win over Aston Villa.
Everton scored on of the biggest upsets of the 2014-15 season with a 3-0 win over Man United in April, but the club definitely use a new stopper with 36-year-old Tim Howard poised to retire and after a year in which the team allowed a whopping six goals to Chelsea during a 3-6 loss.
