Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla could be the target of a major bid from his old stomping grounds at La Liga this summer from Atletico Madrid.
According to the Metro, Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone sees Cazorla as a potential replacement for Arda Turan, who is on the verge of leaving Spain (and likely headed to the Premier League). The 30-year-old Spanish national is coming off his third season with Arsenal, during which he scored seven goals and recorded 11 assists.
Cazorla signed with the Gunners in 2012 on a long-term deal and has recorded 23 league goals and 27 total goals with the club during his tenure. In his first season with the club he was named Arsenal Player of the Season after recording a career-high 12 league goals. The following season, Cazorla scored 3 goals in 6 FA Cup appearances as Arsenal won the first of two back-to-back FA Cups.
The Metro reported that Arsenal will only accept a “huge” bid for their star midfielder.
