Champions League team of the week
Arsenal are known to be long term admirer of Higuain and were interested in signing him from Real Madrid when he moved to Napoli and, now that the player is reportedly frustrated at the San Paolo after they fell out of the Champions League, the Gunners were expected to return for the Argentine.
It would seem that it is Liverpool whose need for a striker is greatest, however, after Mario Balotelli’s latest horror performance against Real Madrid in the Champions League this week, with manager Brendan Rodgers seemingly ready to cut his losses on the Italian and move to a more proven option.
