He’s no Zlatan – but some would argue that Edinson Cavani might be BETTER.
Arsenal are still waiting for a spark of offense out of their star forwards, so they’re doubling down on their efforts to land an elite scorer with a bid for Edinson Cavani.
According to the Metro, Arsenal are still in hot pursuit of Real Madrid superstar Karim Benzema, but have a backup plan firmly in place with a £35 million bid for PSG super striker Edinson Cavani ready if their bid for Benzema fails.
The Metro reported that Real Madrid manager Rafa Benitez is intent on keeping Benzema this season, which only further increases the likelihood that Arsenal’s bid for Benzema gets rejected before the transfer window closes.
Edinson Cavani, however, has somewhat less support from his club with his alleged demands for more time on the pitch than Zlatan being viewed with skepticism.
The 28-year-old Uruguayan striker has an estimated price tag of £45 million after two straight seasons for PSG with 25 goals or more. Cavani led PSG in total goals scored last season and finished second behind Zlatan with 18 league goals as the club won the Ligue 1 title.
