The Gunners are already well stocked in the goalkeeping department, but Wenger still has some concerns over the form of Wojciech Szczęsny to warrant taking a closer look at the German stopper.
Wenger brought in Colombian international David Ospina over the summer, but he has not seen much first team action so far thanks to injury.
That has meant they have been forced to rely on third choice stopper Emiliano Martinez.
Trapp himself has endured some recent injury problems, though with just 18 months left to run on his current deal he could be available for as little as £4m.
