Arsenal transfer news
Arsenal could be set to benefit hugely from the departures of two Manchester United players in this summer’s transfer window.
Firstly, David de Gea’s potential move to Real Madrid could see the Gunners swoop for the signing of Bernabeu goalkeeper Iker Casillas, who will surely be on his way out of the club as the Red Devils man comes in to be the new number one for next season.
According to CaughtOffside, Arsenal remain keen on bringing in a new goalkeeper, and could target Casillas as an alternative to Chelsea’s Petr Cech.
Elsewhere, claims in the Irish Independent suggest that Arsenal may also benefit from Tom Cleverley’s move to Everton, meaning James McCarthy could be on his way out of Goodison Park before next season.
The Republic of Ireland international is on lower wages than Cleverley, whose arrival in midfield could seek the former Wigan man to seek a new challenge, with Wenger having scouts watch him on more than one occasion this season.
