Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is a huge admirer of the young forward, and has been tracking him for the past few months.
Reports are now suggesting that he will splash out £9.4 million necessary to secure his signature when the transfer window re-opens in the new year.
El-Haddadi is still on youth terms at the Nou Camp, hence the low fee, but Barca are thought to be keen on swatting away any potential suitors by quickly putting together a new deal for him.
However, Wenger is determined to land his man, who can play in the number 10 role, as he eyes him as one for the future.
