Arsenal are continuing their efforts to improve their defence, and they now have an Italian target in mind.
According to The Independent, the Gunners are going after Roma defender Kostas Manolas.
Manolas is currently being valued at £21.6m, and the Italian club are not expected to accept anything less from the Gunners.
The 24-year-old played one season with Roma and made 30 Serie A appearances in the 2014-15 campaign.
While he did not score any goals, the Greek international played a vital role in his team finishing second in the Serie A standings behind UEFA Champions League runners-up Juventus.
This will not be enough to scare away Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger though, as he is hoping to see his team field a more complete defence for the 2015-16 season.
They have already succeeded in phase one, which involved them signing longtime Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech.
The Gunners will look to complete their mission to bolster their defence, as they hope to seize their first Premier League title since 2004 after finishing third last season.
