Arsenal were heavily pursuing Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, but that appears to be dying down, with reports suggesting the Gunners are now targeting Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani.
The Clock End reports that Arsenal made the Uruguayan international its top transfer target.
The Gunners have already tried to bring the 28-year-old PSG striker to the Emirates in the past two transfer windows, but they have been unsuccessful in convincing the Ligue 1 club to sell.
Cavani would be a massive addition to Arsenal’s attack, which is already led by the likes Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud.
The former Napoli man has scored 56 goals in two seasons for PSG after notching up an incredible 74 goals in 104 Serie A appearances for the Parnetopei.
The Uruguayan striker has scored a total of 210 goals throughout his 10-year career and would be a much-welcomed addition by the Gunners faithful.
