Arsenal are closing in on Sevilla midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak, as The Metro reports that the Gunners are prepared to pay his £21.4m release clause.
The Gunners have reportedly been pursuing Krychowiak over the summer, and it appears Arsene Wenger is close to getting his man.
The Polish international also offers versatility, as he is capable of playing centre-back, however, he has spent a majority of his stint at Sevilla as a holding midfielder.
Francis Coquelin currently fills the defensive midfield role under Wenger, but Krychowiak will provide strong competition to the Frenchman.
Arsenal are also still looking to bolster its attack this summer and have been heavily linked with a move for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.
Arsene Wenger is believed to be keen to take some of the goalscoring responsibility off Olivier Giroud and Benzema would be an ideal signing.
The Gunners suffered a shock 2-0 loss in their season-opener against West Ham United, but have a chance to get back on track against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday.
