A/Some/Every Striker to Chelsea?
Hmmm another handful of titbits that are lingering. The Telegraph, amongst others, have been tooting the line that the Special One will try and nick Bosnian beanpole, Edin Dzeko, from Man City. Elsewhere though, Andre Schurrle, Hulk and Edinson Cavani are all apparently being lined up and The Mail, not content with that smorgasbord of bloody expensive strikers, reckons Jose will plonk a bid in for Stevan Jovetic. Oh and if you’re feeling really silly, why not add Mario Gomez to the list. Quite what all this means is unclear, the six players mentioned couldn’t represent more disparate options – Hulk is a right sided forward, Schurrle operates from the left flank, Dzeko and Gomez are traditional target men, Jovetic will play anywhere whilst Cavani is the most rounded centre forward of the bunch. So what type of player exactly is Mourinho after? Some credence has been added to a few of the stories with Hulk admitting interest from Chelsea and Napoli’s president expecting to hear from the Blues in the very near future regarding Cavani. Schurrle, Cavani and Hulk seem the most likely moves but do Chelsea really need all them? Seems a lot like people flinging plenty of poop at the wall in the hope that some of it sticks…
