There was some pretty fruity chat from German tabloid, Bild, on Monday who claimed Mario Gomez had already agreed a move to Napoli and had been in talks with the striker for weeks. Gomez’s agent poo pooed those reports on Thursday claiming, ‘We have never been discussing a transfer with Napoli,’. Someone’s been telling porkies, with Bild the most likely culprit. It doesn’t mean the deal may not go through in the future, but new Napoli head honcho, Rafa Benitez, is thought to be keen on other options ahead of the German goal machine.
