Not content to rest on one of the biggest signings of the summer, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has eyes on talented Napoli defender Faouzi Ghoulam as his next big target.
According to the Metro, the Gunners are considered the favorites to land the Napoli left back who is coming off his second season with the Serie A giants. The Metro reports that Arsenal could launch a transfer bid for the £9m-rated defender this week. Though Ghoulam has been a rock for Napoli since joining in 2013, the recent departure of manager Rafa Benitez to Real Madrid has the 24-year-old Algerian national eager to take his talents elsewhere – namely, the Premier League.
Among the other interested clubs are Chelsea and Man United, but both of whom appear to be focusing more significant resources on goalkeepers and strikers at the moment with their respective stars Petr Cech and David de Gea either gone or leaving soon.
Ghoulam was named to the 2014-15 UEFA Squad of the Season alongside fellow Napoli defender Raul Albiol.
