Arsenal are targeting an ambitious move for Paris Saint Germain forward Edinson Cavani, as they look to replace the struggling Olivier Giroud.
The Daily Mirror believes that Arsene Wenger could make an audacious £32m swoop, in a deal that will also see current target man Giroud move in the opposite direction.
The Uruguyan international is known to be keen on a move away from the Parc des Princes having grown frustrated with playing in a wide role – with Zlatan Ibrahimovic the first choice striker at the Ligue 1 giants.
Mirror reports quote French website Sport.fr, who claim that Arsenal will make an offer to try and entice the former Napoli man to the Emirates Stadium.
French international Giroud has been first-choice at the Emirates since arriving two years ago, but has come under pressure from the arrival of Alexis Sanchez and growth of Yaya Sanogo.
Giroud was left out of the starting XI in both the Community Shield and Premier League opener against Crystal Palace, and seems to be suffering from a lack of confidence.
