Gunners’ hopes of bringing striker to the Emirates dealt a blow by Real interest.
Real Madrid have entered the race for Arsenal top target Stevan Jovetic, according to Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri.
Jovetic, 23, has made it clear that he wants to leave Fiorentina this summer, with Arsenal, Chelsea and Serie A champions Juventus all thought to be tracking the Montenegrin international.
But, according to Palmeri, Spanish giants Real Madrid have contacted the Viola about the forward, a development that will concern Jovetic’s other suitors.

The Spanish giants are in need of a new striker this summer, with Argentina international Gonzalo Higuain – also said to be a target of both Juve and the Gunners – set to leave the Santiago Bernabeu.
Jovetic enjoyed a fine campaign for Vincenzo Montella’s side, bagging 13 goals and spearheading the club’s push for a place in next season’s Champions League.
But the Viola missed out on qualification for UEFA’s premier club competition and Montenegro international Jovetic is almost certain to seek pastures new this summer.
Real have also been linked with a move for Liverpool striker Luis Suarez and Tottenham’s Gareth Bale.
