The Gunners already have plans for the 2015-16 season though as they are currently scouting Celtic star Virgil van Dijk.
They are expected to bid £10m on him to transfer to the Gunners and send their scouts to observe the 23-year-old.
Arsenal is currently the favorite to sign van Dijk, and he is reported to be choosing between them and their North London rival, Tottenham.
The Dutch defender used to be a star in the under-21 league, and his defense is considered to be a factor in why the Gunners are expressing interest in him.
It will be difficult for Arsenal to hold off Spurs in their pursuit of van Dijk though, since Spurs experienced major defensive woes this season and hold a bitter rivalry with the Gunners.
They allowed 53 goals throughout the season, which is the same amount as the 19th-place Burnley, who will be relegated from the Premier League.
