Inter Milan and Juventus are also in the hunt for Morata.
Real Madrid ace Alvaro Morata has been a long-term target for Arsenal but the Premier League leaders face competitions from both Inter Milan and Juventus, according to the Daily Express.
The Gunners are in need of attacking support as both Nicklas Bendtner and Theo Walcott are ruled out with injury and Olivier Giroud is the only recognised striker available.
Due to Morata’s lack of game time at the Santiago Bernabeu it was thought the north London club would make a move for the 21-year-old, but manager Arsene Wenger has dampened those claims.
It means that the Serie A duo could swoop in for the Spain under-21 international and are prepared to pay £11m to land their man.
Wenger is only prepared to sanction a loan deal for the forward and Madrid are more likely to be open to making some money on Morata.
The attacker shot to fame at last year’s under-21 European Championship when the Spaniard won the Golden Boot and helped the nation to victory.
So far this term Morata has played 15 matches in all competitions and scored two goals, but is still considered to be a top youngster by Europe’s elite.
Whilst many have highlighted problems in attack at the Emirates Stadium, Wenger seems to be calm about the options available and has used Lukas Podolski in the No.9 role to great effect.
It’s been a great year for the club so far, topping the English top tier after 21 games and progressing to the last-16 of the Champions League and the fourth round of the FA Cup.
