Arsenal buoyed as FC Schalke 04 sporting director says he cannot rule out the possibility that Julian Draxler will leave in the January transfer window.
FC Schalke 04 sporting director Horst Heldt says the club are prepared for the sale of star man Julian Draxler, but would prefer to keep him.
The attacking midfielder has been strongly linked with Arsenal throughout the last two transfer windows, and has already voiced his interest in moving to Emirates Stadium.
Reports this past week have suggested that the Gunners have sent representatives to Germany to speak with the Gelsenkirchen side about the purchase of Draxler, but Heldt says that he will not rule anything in or out until he has something concrete to tell.
“I can’t exclude anything,” said Heldt, as quoted by the Metro.
“I don’t know what other clubs are planning.
“I only know what happens in our club – and nothing happens at the moment, so we don’t bother with this.
“We are very calm with this thing.”
Julian Draxler has a release clause of €45 million (approximately £37.1m) which comes into effect in the summer.
