Juventus and France midfielder Paul Pogba has admitted that when he was younger he dreamed of playing for Premier League giants Arsenal, and La Liga champions Barcelona, the Mirror reports.
The 20-year-old is enjoying an excellent season in Italy for the Serie A holders, having bagged five and assisted three goals already for the table toppers. Chelsea and Manchester City had previously been linked to the young star, but it seems as though he’d prefer to move to the Emirates should he ever return to the Premier League.
Speaking to Republica in Italy, Pogba said: “At Juventus I’m doing fine, but I don’t hide the fact that as a child I dreamed of playing for Arsenal and FC Barcelona.”
Pogba was formerly a Manchester United player, but was only given three first-team Premier League appearances before choosing not to extend his contract and join Juventus in 2012. The Red Devils undoubtedly reject the decision to not secure the player for the foreseeable future. Pogba is now rated as one of the best young players in the world, while United desperately need to strengthen the midfield.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has implied that his side will only enter the January transfer window if a “special” player becomes available, and although Pogba would come into this bracket, it’s very unlikely Juventus will want to sell their prized asset.
