Jackson Martinez would jump at the chance to move to the Emirates… Arsenal could sign FC Porto striker Jackson Martinez, after the Colombian striker admitted he would love the chance to play for the Gunners.
The 27-year-old forward has scored an impressive 14 goals so far this term, but will unlikely be available for less than his £32m buy-out-clause. Martinez though has issued a come and get me plea to the Gunners, explaining that he believes his style would fit the team perfectly.
“When I was a kid, I cheered for Arsenal. I love their style of play, it is flowing and open, with a lot of first touch passes,” Martinez said.
“It would be suitable for a player like me. If I get an opportunity to play for a high level Premier league club such as Arsenal, I wouldn’t hesitate to accept it.”
With Nicklas Bendtner out injured for two months, and Olivier Giroud suffering with an ankle problem, Arsenal badly need striker reinforcements this January to make sure their title push doesn’t derail. Just today, they have been linked to Bayern Munich’s Mario Mandzukic and Atletico Madrid’s Diego Costa.
