Mario Mandzukic (Bayern Munich)
No player scored more headers in Europe’s top five leagues than Mario Mandzukic of Bayern Munich with seven, but the Croatia international appeared to fall out with club manager Pep Guardiola at the end of the season and was dropped from the squad altogether for the DfB-Pokal final.
With the Bavarian giants having signed Robert Lewandowski on a free transfer from arch rivals Borussia Dortmund, Mandzukic appears likely to move on.
Arsene Wenger will be impressed by the 28 year-old’s goal tally of 18 in the Bundesliga, but concerned by his poor build up play.
Mandzukic only completes an average of 17.6 passes per game, which is woeful for a Bayern Munich player given that Guardiola’s side had more possession than any other team in Europe’s top five leagues with 71.2%.
