Arsenal transfer target says that he will make a decision on future in the next ten days.
Olympique Lyonnais midfielder Clement Grenier says he is currently uncertain of his future, with Arsenal monitoring the situation carefully.
Grenier has stated that he is concentrating on his international duties with France for the time being, but will contemplate his next move on holiday afterwards.
“I’m training here in Uruguay and Brazil,” Grenier told the Daily Express.
“It feels good to be far from France right now because I’ve heard a lot of things about me lately.
“I can’t give answers to everybody. I want to enjoy these 10 days of training. We will see about my future after the internationals, during my vacation.”
Grenier is a known Arsenal target, as Gunners boss Arsene Wenger revealed the north London club’s interest on French television network Telefoot during his punditry duties.
“We are following him,” confirmed Wenger.
“His intelligence of play pleases me. He has interesting qualities. He reminds me of Nasri.”
Like Arsenal, Olympique Lyon finished in the qualification spots for the UEFA Champions League, but he would have to believe he would have a greater chance of reaching the group stage with the Gunners.
However, where he would fit into the Gunners team is at present unclear.
Last season at Lyon, Grenier scored seven goals and supplied six assists in 20 Ligue 1 starts, but the majority of those were from an attacking midfield role behind the striker.
At Arsenal, Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshere tend to compete to play in that decision, and Grenier may have to be deployed deeper if he is to move to Emirates Stadium and make a positive impact.
Regardless, all will become clearer in around ten days’ time when Grenier makes his decision.
